About Him

Family :: Michael Andre Collins was born June 12, 1971 in Springfield, Missouri. He has three siblings: Jim, Danny, and Crissy (Mike, Jim, and Danny were adopted in 1980 and their last name was legally changed to Smith). Danny died of pneumonia on January 13, 1988 at 12 years old.

Early Education :: He grew up in the Midwest, living for ten years in the small, remote town of Milan, Kansas. During those years, he attended Argonia Public Schools in Argonia, Kansas. From there, he moved to Wellington, Kansas for six months, and then to Winfield, Kansas, where he graduated from Winfield High School in 1989.

College :: He graduated from Evangel University in Springfield, MO in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications (Broadcast Journalism), a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (Government), and certifications to teach both at the middle school and high school levels. In 2001, he earned further certification, to teach Special Education. In 2002, he enrolled in the Master's of Public Administration program at Missouri State University. He graduated with his Master's Degree in December 2007.

Career :: After several years of college and numerous odd jobs, he joined the United States Army in 1995. He was stationed for three years at Fort Hood, Texas in the 104th Military Intelligence Battalion, U.S. 4th Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged and awarded the Army Commendation Medal in 1997 at the end his initial, three-year enlistment in the elite Military Intelligence Corps.

Radio :: At 99 Hit FM, he - as "Andy Collins" - serves as the station's American Idol correspondent, hosts the popular "Concert After the Concert" series, and co-hosts the KADI Shopping Show, which is simulcast on 1340 AM KADI. As an on-air personality, he has interviewed numerous Contemporary Christian Music artists including Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Third Day, Jars of Clay, and Rich Mullins. He has also interviewed a number of Country music artists, including LeAnn Rimes and Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts.

Prior to 99 Hit FM, he was a DJ at six other radio stations in Kansas, Illinois, and Missouri, including commercial radio stations WDBR 103.7 FM, WTAX 1240 AM, KSOK 1280 AM, and KWKS 94.3 FM. He was also a disc jockey at college radio stations KSWC 100.3 FM (Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas) and KECC 98.1 FM (Evangel University, Springfield, Missouri). During his time at KECC, Mike served in a number of position including station manager, music director, and program director. He also hosted the conservative talk show, "America: Under Fire".


About Her

Family :: Amy was born April 16, 1972 in Springfield, Missouri. She has two siblings: Angie and Jason. Amy's parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews all live in the Springfield area.

Early Education :: Amy grew up in Springfield, attending Springfield Public Schools all 13 of her school years. She graduated from Central High School in 1990.

College :: Amy is currently considering further education options, including classes at Ozark Technical Community College.

Career :: Amy worked for McQueary Brothers, an independent pharmaceutical wholesaler supplying independent pharmacies, from 1991 to 2008. (McQueary's was purchased by McKesson in the summer of 2008; by the end of October, McQueary's closed their doors forever.)

The Couple

Children :: Together, they have six children (listed oldest to youngest): Raia, Kendra, Anthony, Kaelee, Carson, and Dawson.

Grandchildren :: They have two grandchildren (listed oldest to youngest): Tryton and Axton.

Church :: They attend James River Assembly in Ozark where the lead a LifeGroup. She also works in the Early Childhood area on Sunday morning and Wednesday nights, and on the Red Carpet team on Sunday nights. He is in the choir, on the Creative Services team (Facebook and photography), and works for Early Childhood Security on Wednesday nights.
